Chiropractic and Podiatry are specialities that are closely connected to rehabilitation of sport injuries. Furthermore, a large percentage of athletes are seeking Chiropractic and Podiatry therapies in order to prevent injury development and reoccurrence, as well as enhancing performance during competitions. 2004 Dr. Dimou took part in the Athens Olympic Games as a Volunteer First Aid Officer throughout the duration of the games, where his further skills as a Chiropractor and Podiatrist were widely appreciated. 2005 - 2006 Dr. Dimou and Mr. Arvanitakis delivered Podiatric services for the football team AEK providing foot-scanning examinations and orthotics for the footballers. 2006 – 2010. For four years in a row Dr. Dimou and Mr. Arvanitakis held a contract and deliver Podiatric services for the football team Olympiakos FC. The examination of the players was always taking place at the training centre of Olympiakos at Renti. All the players used to receive two pairs of orthotics per season, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints. For three continuous years (2007 - 2010) Dr. Dimou was employed by the man's and women's volleyball team of Panathinaikos providing podiatric and chiropractic services. Once again, all the athletes were using special made orthotic devices and used to get regularly adjusted in order to aid old injuries, to preventing future injuries or for enhancing performance. For the season 2009 - 2010 Dr. Dimou and Mr. Arvanitakis were employed by the Cypriot football club Omonia FC. The examination of the players was conducted at the training centre of Omonia in Nicosia - Cyprus, and like the other teams all players received two pairs of orthotics, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints. Since September 2009 Dr. Dimou is working with the medical team of the women's volleyball team of Markopoulo, delivering Podiatric services. In the same manner, the examination of the athletes took place at the training centre of the team in Markopoulo, and like all the other teams, the girls received two pairs of orthotics, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints. In September 2010 Dr. Dimou started a new contract for the season 2010-2011 with the volleyball team of Olympiakos. Both the man's and woman's teams receive chiropractic and podiatry care. This time all the players for their examination, their orthotics and their treatment visit Dr. Dimou's office. In June 2011 Mr. Dimou was involved as a volunteer in another major athletic event. This was the Special Olympic Games, which took place from 21st of June until the 4th of July in Athens - Greece. Evagelos was part of the medical team "fit-feet" as a podiatrist and provided screening and treatment for numerous sport injuries. |
