Chiropractic and Podiatry are two health care professions that are closely related to rehabilitation of sports injuries. This is why a large number of athletes is seeking Chiropractic and Podiatry treatment. The aim is to prevent injuries, to enhance performance during competitions and to stay fit and healthy throughout the year.
Many professional and semi-professional athletes from the world of sports visit our clinic on regular basis, seeking advice and treatment for their injuries. Most commonly we treat athletes from football, basketball, volleyball and gymnastics, but we do have a lot of experience in other less popular sports.
Below you will find a number of clubs, other teams and individual athletes that Mr Dimou has worked with, all these years, starting with the most recent.
The 2018 World Boccia Championship took place in Liverpool - Uk. Grigorios Polychronidis and Katerina Patroni were the gold medalists once again and together with this victory they also guaranteed their qualification for the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020. Mr. Dimou always close to the gold medalists offers his chiropractic services in order to keep them fit and well for the worldwide competitions.
In June 2020 Mr. Dimou renewed his contract with Olympiakos FC for the 2020 - 2021 football season. For the fourth time in a row, under the supervision and the guidelines of the chief doctor, Chris Theos, Evagelos continuous to offer his chiropractic services to all the football players of the club.
In September 2017 Mr. Dimou joined the medical team of Olympiakos FC. For the football season 2017 - 2018 Mr. Dimou collaborated efficiently with the club, by visiting the Olympiakos training centre at Renti on regular basis. Evagelos was offering his chiropractic services to all the football players once a week. Furthermore, the players had the opportunity to visit Mr. Dimou at his Chiropractic and Podiatry Centre according to their needs.
In August 2017 Mr. Dimou escorted the international athlete of Boccia Grigorios Polychronidis to Seville, Spain for the World Open of Boccia. The 16 times Greek Champion and Paralympic Silver Medalist received chiropractic treatment on daily basis during the whole tournament. His excellent performance led him to win once again the gold medal and be the World Champion of Boccia for 2017. A very important achievement that brings him a step closer to the 2020 paralympic games of Tokyo.
In July 2015 Mr. Dimou signed a contract with Panathinaikos F.C. for the season 2015-2016. More specifically, it is the first time in the history of Greek footballl that a state registered Chiropractor signs a contract with one of the most valuable teams of the premier league. Together with the chief doctor Dr. Kouloumendas, the orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Haralambidis, the physiotherapist Mr. Oikonomidis and many other members of the medical team, Mr. Dimou offers when required chiropractic services. He visits the training Center of Panathinaikos in Koropi twice a week for the musculoskeletal evaluation of the players. In conjunction with other treatment protocols applied from the multidisciplinary team, Mr. Dimou delivers adjustments to the players for the treatment of various injuries. Furthermore, many footballers receive chiropractic adjustments regularly as maintenance, in order to improve their performance without having any serious injuries.
From the podiatrist point of view, there is also a huge response. Football players who require custom made orthotics, undergo static and dynamic foot scanning examination and casting in order to receive insoles both for their football shoes and their trainers. The purpose of these orthotics are to correct the biomechanics of the lower limb and foot, to prevent future injuries and of course to increase performance.
In October 2012 Dr. Dimou started a new campaing in the field of sports, focusing in a very sensitive age group. Dr. Dimou in coordination with the coaches of each team, visits every weekend different stadiums and clubs around athens and offers to all athletes between 6 and 16 years old free foot scanning examinations and biomechanical analysis of the lower limb. Junior athletes from basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, table tennis and other sports are examined and in various cases different biomechanical problems are identified. In each case, special made orthotics are prescribed to aid the athletes improve their performance and to minimise the risk of injuries.
Some of the clubs have been examined so far are A.S PERA, A.O Markopoulo, F.C Chalandri, A.O Athinaikos, A.O Spata, A.O Artemida, F.C Argyroupoli and many more. This campaing will end in May 2014.
In November 2012 Dr. Dimou started a new contract with the basketball team of Panionios B.C. All the basketball players of the team visit the clinic according to their needs. They receive chiropractic adjustments for their injuries and their musculoskeletal complains and podiatry treatment with the use of orthotics for correcting the biomechanics of the lower limb. The contract has been updated for the period 2013-2014.
In 2012 Mr. Dimou was the personal chiropractor of the Olympic silver medalist of TAE-KWON DO Alexandros Nikolaidis. From January to August 2012 Mr. Nikolaidis was visiting the chiropractic and podiatry Center twice a week for his regular chiropractic check up. The chiropractic treatment included adjustments of the spine in order to treat existing injuries and also to enhance performance and keep the athlete in an excellent condition for the upcoming Olympic Games in London.
In November 2011 Evagelos Dimou became sponsor of the website www.womensports.gr. This is the first official Greek website that follows all the female professional and semi-professional sporting activities in the country. All the athletes registered in this club have the privilege of visiting Mr Evagelos Dimou clinic with special reduced prices. The package includes chiropractic treatment for various sport injuries and foot scanning examinations followed by manufacturing of special made orthotics for the treatment of numerous lower limb complains.
In June 2011 Dr. Dimou was involved as a volunteer in another major athletic event. This was the Special Olympic Games, which took place from 21st of June until the 4th of July in Athens - Greece. Evagelos was part of the medical team "fit-feet" as a podiatrist and provided screening and treatment for numerous sport injuries.
In September 2010 Dr. Dimou started a new contract for the season 2010 - 2011 with the volleyball team of Olympiakos. Both the man's and woman's teams receive chiropractic and podiatry care. This time all the players for their examination, their orthotics and their treatment visit Dr. Dimou's office.
Since September 2009 Dr. Dimou is working with the medical team of the women's volleyball team of Markopoulo, delivering Podiatric services. In the same manner, the examination of the athletes took place at the training centre of the team in Markopoulo, and like all the other teams, the girls received two pairs of orthotics, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints.
For the season 2009 - 2010 Dr. Dimou was employed by the Cypriot football club Omonia FC. The examination of the players was conducted at the training centre of Omonia in Nicosia - Cyprus, and like the other teams all players received two pairs of orthotics, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints.
For three continuous years (2007 - 2010) Dr. Dimou was employed by the man's and women's volleyball team of Panathinaikos providing podiatric and chiropractic services. Once again, all the athletes were using special made orthotic devices and used to get regularly adjusted in order to aid old injuries, to preventing future injuries or for enhancing performance.
2006 - 2010 For four years in a row Dr. Dimou held a position as a Podiatric assistant for the football team Olympiakos FC. The examination of the players was always taking place at the training centre of Olympiakos at Renti. All the players used to receive two pairs of orthotics per season, either to treat existing injuries or to prevent future complaints.
2005 - 2006 Dr. Dimou delivered Podiatric services for the football team AEK providing foot-scanning examinations and orthotics for the footballers.
2004 Dr. Dimou took part in the Athens Olympic Games as a Volunteer First Aid Officer throughout the duration of the games, where his further skills as a Chiropractor and Podiatrist were widely appreciated.
